Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Hoang Xuan Anh speak at the meeting

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Hoang Xuan Anh expressed his pleasure when the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR in Vietnam paid a working visit to the province. He affirmed that Cao Bang has always determined that strengthening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with localities of the Lao PDR is the goal in the province's foreign policy.

Also, he briefed the province’s potentials and strengths. Cao Bang has the advantage of climate and soil to form a diverse and rich production area of plants and animals such as including tobacco, tea, chestnuts, vermicelli, fleeceflower, tangerine, black pig, Hmong cow, etc. Nature endows Cao Bang with many spectacular popular landscapes such as Ban Gioc waterfall, Nguom Ngao cave, Angel eye Mountain, Phja Oac - Phja Den national park, Nguom Puc cave, etc. The recognition of Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark in April 2018 opens up opportunities and prospects for the province’s tourism development. The province has 6 pairs of border markets in which there are three bilateral border gates, two border crossings.

He hoped that, through this time’s working visit, the Ambassador would be a bridge between the province and the localities of Laos; introduce large enterprises and investors of Laos as well as other countries around the world to research and invest in the province. In the time ahead, the province wishes to cooperate with a locality of Laos, to join hands to reduce poverty, to develop the economy, to cultivate both side’s affection, and to build the forever green, eternally sustainable friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

For his part, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR in Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang expressed his pleasure to pay a working visit to Cao Bang. He also affirmed that the Vietnam - Laos relation is a special relationship during the history of more than 65 years. The Ambassador highly appreciated the province’s achievements in socio-economic development over the years. He expressed his hope to continue to promote the friendship between Vietnam and Laos in general and Cao Bang province and localities of Laos in particular.

In his position, the Ambassador said that he would continue to act as a bridge Cao Bang and localities of Laos and introduce localities with similar geographical conditions, strengths in economy, culture and tourism for cooperation; coordinate closely to promote friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with localities of Laos by forming twinning brother relationship, cooperation, encouragement to develop together; make efforts to contribute to cultivating the sustainable relationship between the two Parties and States, especially Cao Bang province and some localities of Laos.
