The Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival 2023 kicked off on October 6 evening at the base of Ban Gioc waterfall attracting thousands of domestic and international visitors.

"Ban
Gioc Waterfall is honored by many media agencies around the world as the fourth
largest in the world amongst those located on an international border, the
largest natural waterfall in the Southeast Asia, one of the world's most beautiful
waterfalls, top 10 most magnificent waterfalls in the world, top 7 most spectacular
waterfalls in the world, top 7 natural wonders in Asia" said the Vice Chairman
of the People's Committee of Cao Bang province Trinh Truong Huy.
The
Festival 2023 is one of a series of important political, cultural and foreign
affairs events of Cao Bang province taking place in September and October 2023.
Those activities include the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week taking place in
Cao Bang city with many diverse and unique activities and the Conference "Cao
Bang Presentation" with the theme "Destination - Connection and
development" taking place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs. These are events of special significance to celebrate the 524th
anniversary of the province's founding and the 73rd anniversary of Cao Bang
Liberation Day, promoting the province's image, potential and strengths to
domestic and international partners for attracting investment as well as
strengthening cooperation in many fields.
Many unique
art performances took place
The Ban
Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival 2023 took place under new conditions and
opportunities when Vietnam and China open a pilot sightseeing tours for both
countries' visitors to the Ban Gioc (Vietnam) - Detian (China) scenic area.
The centerpiece
of the festival is a light festival held on the waterfall, featuring modern
sound, lighting and laser technology. Also, various enticing art performances took
place on the opening ceremony's evening of the festival.

procession ceremony to pray for peace along with favourable wind and rain
Earlier
on the same day, a water procession ceremony from the waterfall to a local
pagoda took place to pray for peace in the country and good weather for
agriculture.
The
festival featured a series of captivating activities such as the photo
exhibition with the theme "the beauty of the country land", the
exhibition to display and introduce OCOP products, specialties and dishes of
the province as well as sports activities, folk games, and chestnut picking and
cracking. The highlight of the festival was the performance of Then singing with Tinh musical instrument with the attendance of 1,000 people, setting a Vietnam
record for the largest number of participants.
