Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trieu Dinh Le received the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam and its delegation during the working visit to Cao Bang on the morning of November 28. Vice Chairman of the Provincial Peoples Committee Trinh Truong Huy and leadership representatives of a number of related departments and sectors attended the meeting.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trieu Dinh Le receives the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Vietnam

At the meeting, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trieu Dinh Le expressed his pleasure to host the reception for the delegation of the US Embassy in Vietnam during their visit in Cao Bang province. He affirmed that the Vietnam - US relation has achieved practical and comprehensive development since its establishment of diplomatic ties, contributing to the security, peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world. In the context that both countries had adopted a joint statement on elevating the Vietnam-US relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation and sustainable development on September 10, 2023, the visit of the delegation and the Ambassador personally had important significance, which contributes to promoting cooperative Vietnam - the US relation in general and Cao Bang province - the US Embassy relation in particular.

The Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee thanked the US Embassy and the US agencies for their interest and aid to the province in recent times, especially in the field of health and education. The Quang Trung Kindergarten project in Hoa An district funded by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command contributes to the province's educational development. The Permanent Deputy Secretary also said that Cao Bang has a rich culture, tradition, many strengths, and potential for the development of agriculture and forestry, tourism, and border gate economy. In the coming time, the province will focus on developing sustainable tourism and services, turning Cao Bang tourism and services into a key economic sector and building Cao Bang into a tourism center of the Northern midland and mountainous region; developing agriculture in the direction of producing endemic goods associated with processing, building brands and increasing the competitiveness of agricultural products for domestic and foreign markets; and developing the border gate economy to exploit and maximize the province's advantages.

Cao Bang province wishes to expand and strengthen cooperation with localities, domestic, regional and international investors; continue to receive better support from the US Government and agencies. Hopefully after the visit, the US Embassy would pay attention to supporting the province in introducing and connecting US investors to Cao Bang for conducting researches, surveys and investments in Cao Bang in fields of agriculture - forestry, tourism, border gate economy; continue to support the province in the field of health and education. The province always pays attention to investment support policies and is ready to coordinate with the Embassy and relevant agencies to create the best environment for effective and long-term partners and investors in the province.

The US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Vietnam Marc E. Knapper thanked the provincial leadership for the warm welcome for the delegation and expressed his delight at the visit to Cao Bang province. The US President Joe Biden's visit to Vietnam has deepened the Vietnam - US relation, opening up comprehensive strategic partnership in various fields of mutual concerns. The Ambassador said that health and education have been two prominent areas of cooperation between US agencies and organizations in Cao Bang in recent years. The US has supported the construction of over 100 schools in Vietnam including Quang Trung Kindergarten in Hoa An district.

The Ambassador valued the investment environment as well as the province's strengths and potentials. He expressed his hope that, in the coming time, both sides would enhance educational cooperation, implement strategies against human trafficking, boost agricultural innovation, and promote Cao Bang's cultural heritage and natural beauty for tourism.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trieu Dinh Le wished the Ambassador and the members of the delegation a favorable, effective and successful working visit in Cao Bang province. He expressed his belief that the relation between Cao Bang province and the US Embassy would be increasingly strengthened and contribute to fostering a robust partnership between the U.S. and Vietnam at the provincial level, in line with the U.S.-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
