Duc Long Border Guard in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Thach An district held a conference on popularization of Vietnam Border Defense for the district’s officials

Colonel Dang Hong Quan, Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard said the Provincial Border Guard Command, implementing the Law on Vietnam Border Defense in the 2021 - 2025 period, advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a plan for the implementation of Law on Vietnam Border Defense. Provincial conferences on providing in-depth training on the Law of Vietnam Border Defense and its enforcement documents for provincial reporters as well as officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard was held. The Provincial Border Guard Command coordinated with border districts under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee to organize intensive training on the Law of Vietnam Border Defense; direct border guard posts to advise border communes and townships to continue organizing conferences on popularizing the Law on Vietnam Border Defense. The Law clearly stipulates the tasks and functions of the Border Guard as the core role in protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security.

The popularization of the Law on Vietnam Border Defense is identified as an important and long-term political task that needs to be carried out regularly, continuously, effectively. In order for the propaganda to be highly effective, the border guard stations, closely following the plans, directions and instructions of their superiors actively researched and systematically compiled the core contents of the Law to organize propaganda conferences associated with relevant documents to ensure consistency, completeness, synchronization, quality, practicality and effectiveness throughout the province. On that basis, propaganda activities were organized at the units and headquarters of the People's Committees of border towns and communes, thereby raising awareness and responsibility for officials, soldiers, civil servants and public employees and people in the area where the border guards are stationed.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Lang Hieu Commune (Trung Khanh district) Ngo Van Rau said that the commune Party Committee and government had actively studied and mastered the detailed provisions of the Law to continue to propagate widely to officials and people in the locality.

Working groups and teams of border guard posts went to each house to popularize the specific contents of the Law. Since the beginning of 2022, Border Guard units have actively coordinated with Party committees, authorities, departments of border communes to organize 1,156 propaganda sessions/ nearly 52,388 turns of people and other small propaganda sessions/over 300 turns of people; distributing over 4,000 leaflets. The core issues of the Law were propagated to each border citizen, striving to ensure the goal of "each border citizen is a living border marker".

Up to now, most localities have completed the implementation of an intensive training conferences on the Law of Vietnam Border Defense and detailed regulations for officials, civil servants and armed forces, contributing to helping officials and people grasp the basic contents of the Law and detailed regulations; raising awareness and responsibility in participating in the protection of territorial sovereignty and national border security.

The Law on Vietnam Border Defense is an important legal corridor, a guideline for activities in border areas, aiming to actively and effectively implement the border management and protection. In addition, the Law strongly affects the economic, political and social life of border residents. Accordingly, each citizen in the border area has the responsibility to participate in building an all-people border defense, all-people border defense posture and movements to protect national sovereignty, territory and borders, and maintain security and order, contributing to building a stronger border region.
