The delegation of Cao Bang province including leaders and officials of a number of relevant departments and agencies, and the People’s Committee of Quang Hoa district led by Ms Doan Thi Le An, Deputy Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism attended the event.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Chen Hong, Deputy Mayor of People's Government of Chongzuo city emphasized that Chongzuo city and Cao Bang province share the common border and both side’s peoples have a long tradition of exchange. The event’s purpose is to strengthen the exchange of government at all levels of both countries, to form mutual trust and deepen the exchange and cooperation in culture and tourism between both sides. This contributes to deepening the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic partnership.

At the event, special traditional singing and dancing performances were performed. Traditional costumes of the two localities’ people were introduced. Activities of drumming and pouring rice for the "Auspicious Dragon" to pray for favorable rain and good harvest took place. The participants enjoyed visiting the stalls displaying both sides’ local agricultural products and participated in a party of thousands of people tasting the two sides’ traditional dishes.

On this occasion, Chongzuo city introduced to visitors three China-Vietnam friendship tours named "following in the footsteps of President Ho Chi Minh", including China - Chongzuo - Vietnam’s Viet Bac (Viet Bac is known as provinces of Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, and Tuyen Quang) tour; China - Vietnam friendship Ho Chi Minh trail tour and China-Vietnam dual heritage tour.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Doan Thi Le An stated that Cao Bang province, over the past time, had directed Party committees and governments at all levels in the province to focus on thoroughly understanding and propagating about the role and importance of people-to-people diplomacy in the new situation; actively expand cooperation relations, especially the relation with China, which contributes to building borders of peace, friendship, cooperation and development; maintain and strengthen cooperation with China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in economy, trade, investment, tourism, education, health, cultural exchanges, sports, business activities, import-export, etc. Attending the "Spring Dragon Festival" was a great opportunity for Cao Bang province to exchange and learn valuable experiences in culture and tourism of the People's Government of Long Chau district, China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
